Stratos Returns!
January 19th 2011 12:43
Anyone who appreciates cars will have some stage drooled over images of the Lancia Stratos. The mid engined coupe was powered by the 2.4 litre Dino V6 shared with (amongst others!) the Fiat Dino coupe and the Ferrari 206.
Styled by a crazy person, came from an era when wedge was good. The car handled like a dream and became a very competitve rally car. Unfortunately Lancia forgot about its rally and heritage and set about building a range of semi luxury cars with names like the Y10 ( White hen - get it?)
Well the good news is the Stratos is back!
Lancia is now part of the Fiat group which means there are plenty of goodies to choose and in this case, they picked one of the best! The new version is powered by the Ferrari F430 V8 and will be built in very limited numbers, no word yet on whether or not the Alitalia colour scheme featured above will be available as an optional extra.
