New " Retro" Gullwing

I like old cars, one of the most dramatic cars of the last 60 years or so was the Mercedes Benz 300SL otherwise known as the Gullwing. It was probably the first real supercar and was, if I can make the comparison, was like the Starship Enterprise in a vehicle market full of sailing ships!
If, like Autoloud, you thought the original version of the Gullwing was a masterpiece then take a look at this!
A company called Gullwing-America, has revealed this 300 SL Panamericana concept.
It has the same old style looks but it is powered by the same 5.5-liter V8 from the SLR McLaren (minus supercharger) they might also power this retro tribute with a V6, which might make it cheaper, Mmmm probably not! All the company need is some orders to produce it!
The idea of a retro looking car with modern mechanicals always appeals to Autoloud and these guys have a track record as this beauty was designed by a guy called Arturo Alonso. He also styled the absolutely magnificent Bentley S3 E concept (also pictured), this British bruiser was BMW powered and if you are keen enough you can own one!
Unfortunately the Gullwing and Bentley will have to wait until I win the $ 10 million Powerball on Thursday!!
