Mr Bangle, meet Walt Disney!

Lately, every time I think of BMW I have visions of a darkened castle somewhere in Bavaria, lots of mad professors running round, while a thunderstorm rages outside. You get the idea! Apart from the X6 we talked about the other day, I just saw the concept Mini Crossover 4x4 on the net, where the hell did that idea come from! It is time for Chris Bangle to take off the designer glasses and have a lie down, BMW's are ugly!
Back to the Mini, the original mini came in three body styles (Four if you count the moke!) the sedan, a wagon / van and the pick up. There never was a four wheel drive version. AUTOLOUD thinks that BMW has lost their way with the MINI. The hatch I like, the Clubman and those crazy doors lost me and this thing, Well if I want a crossover (which I don’t!) or want to go off-road (which 90% of these things never will), then I’ll buy an original Range Rover with the hose out interior!
The original Mini became an icon because it had personality; they were simple cars, uncomplicated in design and ingenious in their usage of space. These new versions have none of these things.
Like most of these retro rebirths, the Mini is now looking like a cartoon version of itself, Next thing, someone will re-release the Morris Minor tourer and it will look just like Roger Rabbits car.
