Morgan three wheeler exhumed!

November 21st 2010 11:45
Everything old is new again at Morgan.

Morgan three wheeler

The one family owner, Malvern based car company famous for the seemingly ageless range of Morgan sports and grand tourers has revealed plans to bring their historic three wheeler cyclecar back to life.

Entering production in the early 1930's and Last seen leaving the bottom shed at Malvern in 1952 the latest version is to be powered by a 1500cc (or 96 cubic inch for Hogsters) Harley Davidson engine, so the three wheeler will combine ageless classic looks with modern mechanicals. The best part is that with a weight of under 500kg the Morgan will technically be a motorbike in the eyes of the bureaucrats rather than a car!

Considering Morgan’s recent green credentials perhaps a small turbo diesel with a ton of torque should be a future consideration – that would be a pocket rocket!

Strictly a two seater, the classic Morgan looks like the factory dusted off the original plans from the 1930’s and decided not to change a thing – not a bad choice in Autoloud’s estimation.
