Jeremy Clarkson - He's a very naughty boy, NOT!
November 10th 2008 12:19
In an unusual step for AUTOLOUD, No cars will be mentioned in todays blog, however Jeremy Clarkson will! Regardless of what the British tabloid press or the BBC would have you believe this man is NOT public enemy number one.
In this politically correct world we all inhabit, what ever happened to the great British sense of humour? To quote from the book of Python, "It is deceased, bereft of life!"
I ( and many other people!) appreciate the dry wit of Clarkson and feel that it should be celebrated. For all those people who feel his comments are in bad taste, then take a step back. It wasnt that long ago that Benny Hill was chasing big breasted- mini skirted girls around!
British humour has always had an ability to comment on social issues, Warren Mitchell as Alf Garnett was the prime example, Love thy neighbour was a 1970s TV show which covered the racism issue, Spitting Images, was the ultimate in political satire and lets not forget the Full Monty, a movie about unemployment.
Do not single Clarkson out because he makes social comments that people dont want to hear, single him out because he is making comments that society should hear! Oh and another thing, GET A SENSE OF HUMOUR!

QUOTE ME NO QUOTES!
however, the only criticism I have of Clarkson, is, he hates Aussies!
He said as much on one of the last interviews by Parky, (Michael Parkinson) and Parky pulled him up, as he ran down Aussies in the outback, sneerig at them and us in general, Parky said, "I like Australians!" That stopped the smug bigot Clarkson in his tracks, not a word heard in rebuttal from him.
Mind you, I still like watching the show, but make no mistake, Clarkson has very narrow (arrogant) views, imbued by his relatively privleged upbringing.
(And I also know Parkinson personally and he really does love Australia and Aussies, coming down here every summer to watch the cricket!)
