In Englands green and pleasant land

With apologies to William Blake, I wanted to talk about things British.
That once mighty industrial powerhouse that was the British motor industry is now no more than a cottage industry, reduced to ekeing out its existance by the remaining small concerns in even smaller sheds. Most of the big names still exist, but only in name. There are still a significant volume of vehicles built in the United Kingdom by foreign owned companies but in all honesty, these days you do have to look pretty hard to find a truly British car company.
Amongst the survivors scattered around this verdant land, we find specialist builders who produce Luxury or Sports vehicles, the ranks include, Morgan, Ariel, Bristol, Noble, Caparo, Caterham, and Westfield who both build versions of the Lotus Seven plus a whole lot of others including the builders of the famed London Taxi LTI.
Where to from here, well I dont think anyone really knows. It would be a national disgrace to see the British Motor industry die completely, it still has a beating heart its just not as strong as it used to be.
