Honey I shrunk the Audi!

For the last decade, the German motor industry has been engaged in a horsepower war which has seen power outputs go crazy in what is no more than a “Mine is bigger than yours” contest.
Have to be honest here; Autoloud loves horsepower but what about the other end of the spectrum? The noble pursuit of the ultimate Miles per gallon or litres per 100 Kilometres (depending on where you live), is also a race being slugged out by the Germans. If you take a journey back in time, you find that Germany was responsible for many economy minded (some of them fun) cars including such vehicles as the Heinkel Trojan, Zundapp and everyone’s favourite the Messerschmitt KR200 Tiger.
History is now repeating itself with Audi showing a concept car called the Urban Vision which features staggered tandem seating and a look and feel closer to a motorcycle rather than a car. This is not the first time that the VW Group have played with something of the nature, only a few years ago they showed a concept called the 1liter car, which was as minimalist as it was possible to be and powered by a tiny diesel engine sipped at a rate of 1liter per 100 kilometre or 282mpg!
This is all well and good but in reality would what you rather drive? Perhaps you would be tempted by a choice of a Mini turbo diesel or Golf Bluemotion which both rate at around 3 litres per 100kms and offer a level of comfort we have grown used to or would you lean to an enclosed motorbike alternative?
Looking at images of the Urban Vision, Autoloud knows which one he would choose!
