GM collection to be auctioned, if this fails next is a telethon!

GM and Chrysler are the recipients of some government funds with a vague reference to being made accountable on how they spend it. Folks I have to tell you, if Bush is going to throw this much of your tax dollars around I would want to know where every last cent went!
Ford for some inexplicable reason decided not to partake in this hand out, maybe they are too scared to jump in as they know they may have to pay it back!
Ford has sold most of their family jewels and now the General has decided to have a sale too, of course they have now found out exactly just how much love there is in the room for SAAB and HUMMER, NOT! So instead, GM will clear out the Heritage centre and auction their collection of one off's, show cars, prototypes and other vehicles of interest to members of the general public.
The combination of Barratt Jackson and Las Vegas normally produces big numbers dollarwise, but AUTOLOUD has to ask, why sell something that at best might raise, say $10 million (as a figure!) when this is a drop in the ocean. Oh, and just who is going to buy these trinkets! Most investors are hanging on tight to their assets and the smart guys will only spend if it is cheap enough.
It is sad that it has come to this but if you are really keen, the Cadillac limo of William Jefferson Clinton is definately for sale, I just hope they had the upholstery on the back seat cleaned!

then, buy the lot and set up a Ford car museum, ten bucks admittance.... and when the museum is closed...whooopppeeeee!!!!
it is an oddball ludicrous idea, but, maybe it is a way for some of the grossly overpaid execs to get their hands on some classics cheaply?
how cynical of me...
cheers and Merry Christmas to you!
