Gaze into the crystal ball!
January 3rd 2009 10:38
Its here! 2009 has arrived!
A quick glance into the crystal ball will unveil the (possible but improbable!) events that will unfold in the first couple of months of the year.
January: The American motor industry will continue to be plagued by fiscal problems, so much so that Chrysler will be sold to the little known Red-flags-flying-as-we-march- on-10-year-plan rickshaw company from China. They pay only a token sum.
February: The release of an economy minded Maybach Hybrid by Mercedes Benz is applauded by green organizations worldwide. Powered by a Smart three cylinder engine the Maybach is only suitable as a static display unit as the engine is only capable of powering the vast array of standard features. A Mercedes Benz spokesman said that “In these hard times everyone must make comprises, jah!”
March: GM proudly releases their latest vehicle. The Chevrolet Bel Air features dogleg windscreens, chrome and rear fins. The car is described by GM executives as a tribute to the days when GM actually had some market share. The Bel Air 1957 is also fitted with bench seats and white wall tyres.
April: The new owners of Chrysler, Red-flags-flying-as-we-march- on-10-year-plan Rickshaw Company from China. Release a press statement that they will place two shipping containers full of US currency totalling $ 250 million in the Mojave Desert and then completely destroy them. The management say that at least this way they will only lose $ 250 million!
The batteries just went flat on the crystal ball, sorry that’s all there is! For now!
