David Coulthard swore! Good for him!

March 16th 2008 13:59
So the Australian F1 is all over for another year, and yes I did doze off! but only for a couple of laps!

Channel Ten need shooting after telling everyone that the race started at 3PM. I sat in my favourite chair at about five to three, turned the TV on and discovered that I was watching Lap nine! So thanks for that Channel ten! As for the commentary team, well they sprout the most inane dribble known to man, most of the time. Hopefully if we keep the Grand Prix they can throw some decent money around to secure a decent commentary team. My diary is free by the way for that weekend!

Probably the highlight, well apart from Lewis Hamilton winning, and the numerous DNF's has to be the David Coullthard interview. Now DC has been around for a fair while and he still tries hard which I personally admire him for, He obviously still feels passion for what he does, which is great, I only hope that if and when he does kick Massa's arse, Bernie will decide to televise it! That could be fun to watch!

The move that Massa made on Coulthard was straight from the Schumacher school of Motor Racing. Micheal Schumacher was a brilliant driver and yes he deserved to be World Champion on more than one occassion, but sometimes his tactics STANK! Remember the Monaco GP when he drove his Ferrari straight ahead and blocked the track so no-one could beat his fastest time? Schumacher even short changed his own teammates sometimes and was less than sportsman-like to many others.

During the 1956 Formula One season, the legendary Fangio and Englishman Peter Collins were team-mates both driving Ferraris. The final race of the year was the Italian Grand Prix, both Fangio and Collins could have become World champion on winning the race, Fangio's car broke down 15 laps from the end of the race, what did Collins do? He handed Fangio his car and told him the World Championship was his to take, Citing there was plenty more time for him (Collins) to do the same. Fangio went on to win and he became World Champion for the fourth time and Collins never did get the chance, he sadly died in a road accident driving a Jaguar.

That is what sportmanship is all about.
